The makers of the elaborately composed work "directory: Tattoo"
began by writing texts together, collecting movements and compiling
early memories. Hence, moved memories and remembered movements play
a major role in this dance piece, which is situated in the cool,
objective space of the stage. An atmosphere of quiet concentration
prevails; the five performers mostly keep to themselves with reduced
movements while projections of excerpts from their collective texts
pass by. These include phrases such as "today is the beginning
of the rest of your life", conveying a sombre lyricism which
deufert + plischke consistently pursue in this piece. The evocative
music by Hubert Machnik is played live and constantly blends with
the events on stage.
